Driver Information and Entertainment encompass the converging fields of car entertainment, information and communication in a vehicle. This includes communications functions like wireless, voice recognition, and entertainment systems like digital radio/TV and DVD video player. More importantly it includes the integrated services where these functions work together -- like telematic systems where a GPS based unit works with a GSM phone and broadcast traffic information to guide drivers to their destination, books parking places before they arrive and calls for immediate help in case of accident.
