| ST policy is to guarantee traceability of all components. For that purpose ST production management system is controlling and identifying devices with a flag which is used by marking and labeling systems.
1. Marking
For RoHS compliant products, the marking complies with the JEDEC norm JESD97, taking into account the different “2nd Level Interconnect” :
e1 = SnAgCu
e3 = Sn
e4 = NiPdAu
e6 = SnBi
Starting from Q4-08, the letter “e” will be progressively replaced by the letter “G” (keeping the same number to identify the 2nd level interconnect finishing) to identify ECOPACK2 products.
2. Labeling
As of today "ECOPACK/RoHS" is mentioned on the inner box label of all RoHS compliant devices.
The next release is planned to mention the ECOPACK grade level.
“ECOPACK/RoHS” will be replaced by “ECOPACK1/RoHS” or “ECOPACK2/RoHS”
